Mike's influences include some classic rock but mostly modern rock. Rush, Cheap Trick, Collective Soul, and the Goo Goo Dolls are his favorite bands.

Mike moved to Naperville, Illinois in January, 2002 after spending two years as the lead singer of a popular, classic rock-to-modern rock cover band in Houston, Texas. He joined The Absentees in the fall of 2002 and hasn't looked back since.
